Irak crew, Dash Snow

The Irak crew is built up of some of the most hard working people ever, and society begs to differ. Reading up on some of the documentation's, photograph's and works of this family really doesn't give them enough credit for what they do. A little quote from VICE magazine "New York’s graffiti scene in 2001 is made up of some of the most reckless drug users in America. Their crew is called Irak. They are rude, illegal, sometimes gay and always on the verge of losing their lives. We like to write about people who get fucked up, but this is bigger: Sacer, Semen and Earsnot are more than just “most wanted” on the NYPD’s hit list." by Bruce LaBruce
I just want to dive into one member in particular Dash Snow or SACE, rip. You can wiki his life but I just want to give some of my input. He is in my mind a truly incredible photographer though the drug uses prove to be to much for him. He died at such a young age but his work will span for many more years. He walked against society and the law with his head held up high. He lived outside the box.

Look him up now!

Via Regina Public Garden

Via Regina Public Garden
Lorenzo Noe Studio Di Architettura
I look to this project in Italy for inspiration for my own ideas in a project I've started at Sutro Baths. The site of Sutro Baths, in San Francisco, contains the ruins of the once glorious bath house built in the 19 century. This idea of keeping history involved in the site is prominent in Via Regina Public Garden. Lorenzo Noe Studio Introduced this old historic site and building around it. I find it the perfect way of keeping traditions and creating the new which I hope to use in my site.
I just love this detail above, of keeping the rocky hill side integrated with the design.

Earsnot

Earsnot one of my most favorite hand styles, I just hate putting a face to his fame. Saw him in San Francisco for a gallery opening. I loved it, he tagged the whole building from head to toe and it just happened to be next a police station. It literally made me laugh!
Go check him out on the streets of New York, or if your in San Francisco the building is still up with his work it's going down 16th street, I pass by it every day you cant miss it!
More of Irak crew soon

Wefi Surf Boards

Missing the warm Florida east coast right now. I've been surfing on and off for quite a while now and this would be my dream board. Yeah it might not be light weight but it sure would turn my head.

Check them out.

Wingtip Sneakers

I dont like to much designer things but theses shoes are nice and simplistic. Nicely well made with the subtle blue to add in color.

Kengo Kuma

These are perfect examples of how aggregations can be used in shaping architecture. Kengo Kuma studies materials he uses in his architecture and finds out there limits and capabilities to perform a space. Theses examples below show how simple materials can be manipulated to create interesting forms and spaces that can control light and other elements.

Be sure to check out some Kengo Kuma's work

Lamborghini

Lamborghini has always fascinated me. At the young age when (the italian car maker) Ferrari was getting the glory of making one of a kind supper cars, Lamborghini (also italian) set out to change what can be beauty. Lamborghini makes it a point that red isn't the only thing that is cool. The bull that is Lamborghini shouts at you when it passes by the street, with it's lime green or bright orange colors. In this radical vision I can respect Lamborghini for breaking out of the conservative box and chasing down the new. Here are some concepts by Lamborghini in the 70s, its something my mouth drops every time I see them, truly far out from its time.
